Xanga just drove me to distraction, so we are trying something new. I hope this will be easier to post on and easier for people to get to my blog.
Let's see..now for updates....
We were in Winfield today to visit Grandma for Mother's Day. Kemper, Vi, Graham and Charlotte also came down and Damon's mom, Kennie, road up with us. We made it a day trip and Grandma was in heaven with all of the hustle and bustle in her apartment. We also made her happy - we took my new sewing machine for her to play with and WE LEFT IT for her to play with. I did explain that I would be coming back for it in a few weeks.
Grandma gave the kids each a new quilt. She had been working on one for Reid, using the fabrics that we had bought her for Christmas. That was not the intent, but Reid spent so much time picking the fabric and showing them to Grandma, that Grandma decided to turn them into a quilt for Reid. Jackson's "blankie" is showing his age, so she also let Jackson pick from several other quilts she had finished. He chose a red/black quilt. I don't think it will take the place of "Blankie" but it might have to if Blankie continues to sprout more holes.
We are finally all healthy again after a week of sickness. Jackson was down Monday and Tuesday and was the sickest I had every seen him. Even sick, Jackson usually acts normal, running around, eating, playing, etc. But, Monday, he was white as a sheet, didn't want to eat, and just wanted to lay around. When I got him to the doctor in Tulsa, he crawled up on the exam table, covered up with his blanket and went to sleep. Not his usual MO at all. Even his doctor was a little freaked out. She couldn't figure out what was causing it, so she treated him for both viral and bacterial infections. He ran a low fever on Tuesday, but was back to himself and back to school on Wednesday. Then, Damon was home sick on Thursday. I fought it off and on all week, as well. We finally decided it was viral, since we were passing it around.
We have started our official Summer of Home Improvement. We started in Jackson's room and, after numerous coats of primer, Damon put color on the wall on Thursday. As he has painted in there and everything looks clean and fresh, the to do/to paint list has grown. Our original plan was a few rooms (Jackson, master, dining room/hallway) has now grown to almost every area of the house except the den. We are resigning ourselves to the house being a complete pit over the next 6-12 months as we tackle all of this. But, it is exciting to make the house ours, which we really needed to do after being here for three years.
